Continuation....  Elm Wood Side Table (Part III)

Sealed pre cat lacquer. Three coats - 90 sheen. Scuff sanding in between spraying lacquer.

Check for some "Touch-up" after the final coat of lacquer.  Brushing the same stain on lighter spot.

A hole on one leg.

Using touch up Mohawk wax stick as filler. Lighter color first...

follow up by darker color wax stick filler.

After assembly, Strap clamping - making the piece solid and stable.

Continuation of Restoring Elm Wood Side Table (Part II)

Sample recipe of dye and stain.  Mixing NGRs and oil base wiping stain (Goudey Rosewood) under the top board.

Staining - I sprayed red & yellow NGR to make more intense orange on my project and used Goudey Medium Walnut (lighter color) wiping stain instead of Goudey Rosewood (darker color).

I used Goudey Medium Walnut (lighter color) wiping stain instead of Goudey Rosewood (darker color).

Glazing - I used Mohawk Raw Umber. Notice the beautiful grain pattern of Elm wood

Lower board with glaze Mohawk raw umber.
The next step is spraying lacquer after glazing.... TBC
Before restoration of Elm wood side table. (Part I)

Structural condition is not solid.  It has many scratches and dents.  Cracked and open gap on the side  end grain - on both top and lower board.
